  Pastillas in the form of cigars with almonds and peanuts


  • 10 pastilla leaves (cut into rectangular strips)
  • 150 grams of crushed almonds
  • 150 grams of crushed peanuts
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

  • 50 grams of melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon blossom water
  • frying oil
  • Honey prepared with sugar is as follows

How to prepare:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground almonds, ground peanuts, finely ground sugar, cinnamon powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the melted butter to the mixture and blend until the mixture has a moist texture.
  3. Gradually, add the orange blossom water to the mixture and mix until the mixture is well combined.
  4. Lay a pastilla sheet on a work surface and spoon a teaspoon of the mixture into the bottom of the pastilla sheet.
  5. Fold the paper over the mixture and tuck the side sides inside the paper to form a cigar shape.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining paper and the remaining mixture.
  7.  Add the rolled cigar to the oil in a frying pan over medium heat and stir-fry until golden.
  8. Lift the cigars out of the oil using a spoon and place them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
  9. The sugars are placed hot in a bath of honey
  10. Drip from excess honey and decorate with sesame or almond flakes
  11. Serve warm pastilla cigar with tea or coffee.

Note: powdered sugar can be added on top of the cigars

Briwat with almonds in the fassi way

Briwat with almonds is one of the famous Moroccan traditional sweets, and it is characterized by its unique and delicious way of preparation. 

The following is how to prepare briouat with almonds in the Moroccan Fassi way:

the components:

  • Briwat dough to prepare pastilla leaves as shown here
  • Roasted and crushed almonds
  • soft sugar
  • Orange blossom water
  • melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional)


  1. Prepare the filling mixture by mixing the crushed almonds with the caster sugar and cinnamon powder. a food mixer can be used to stir the mixture and make it smooth and homogeneous.
  2. Cut the paper into rectangular strips.
  3. Place a little of the filling at one end of each strip  Then fold the strip over to seal the filling inside.
  4. Push the sides towards the center to ensure a complete seal of the filling.
  5. Fry the briwat in a skillet over medium heat until golden.
  6. After browning the briwat, leave it to cool for a minute
  7.   Then dip it in honey.
  8. Drip from honey and decorate as desired
  9. Serve delicious and flavourful briouats with tea or coffee.

Ingredients for Briwat with Peanuts and Sesame:


  • 500g peanuts or coconut
  • A cup of sesame , equivalent to 100 g
  • yolk
  • Blossom water
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • A teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Pastilla paper
  • honey
  • Oil
  • Flour 
  • water

How to prepare briouat with coconut:

  1. First we roast the cocoa and then grind it with sugar
  2. After that we grind sesame well.
  3. We mix all the ingredients and combine them with blossom water to obtain a dough or a cohesive knot
  4. We form the dough into equal balls.
  5.   Divide the pastilla paper into rectangular strips, then put a ball of peanut dough on the edge of the strip, roll it in the shape of a triangle, then stick the ends with the water and flour mixture.
  6. We continue in the same way, then fry the triangles in hot oil until golden.
  7. After that, we put it in honey and immerse it well until it is completely absorbed
  8.   Then decorate it with sisam or as desired
  9. Enjoy it 

Briwat with peanuts

A delicious and easy meal to prepare.

The ingredients needed to prepare it:

  • 200 grams of roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pastilla leaves are ready

How to prepare

  1. The peanuts should be ground in a food processor until they are smooth.
  2. In another bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, honey, and salt well.
  3. Add ground peanuts to the mixture and mix until the mixture is homogeneous.
  4. Cut the Briwat dough into small rectangles.
  5. Put a teaspoon of the mixture on both sides of the dough and roll it well until it forms a triangle.
  6. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat, then fry the briwat until golden.
  7. Remove the briwat from the pan and place it on kitchen paper to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the peanut briouats with a hot drink and decorate with powdered sugar if desired.

Chicken pastilla with nuts and powdered sugar is rich in healthy and nutritious ingredients. here is how to prepare it:

the components:

  • 500 grams of chicken cut into cubes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts of pistachios, almonds and walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  •   Pastillary leaflets
  • Butter for greasing
  • Two eggs


  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat, then add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft.
  2. Add chicken, salt, black pepper, cumin, coriander, and red pepper. 
  3. Add enough water and leave until the chicken meat is tender.
  4. Leave the mixture until the water evaporates completely
  5.   Add the eggs and mix well until the eggs are soft
  6. Leave the mixture aside.
  7. Nuts are lightly roasted in a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. Grease a baking tray with butter, and the tray can also be lined with parchment paper.
  9. Then a few pastilla sheets are placed in the tray so that they cover the entire tray and are brushed with butter.
  10. The chicken and egg mixture is placed on pastilla paper and a little nuts mixture is placed
  11. Place a few pastilla leaves on top of the nuts and chicken as a cover and spread with butter.
  12. Steps 8 and 9 are repeated until the number of layers is 3
  13. The ends of the pastilla leaves are wrapped under the pastilla to give it an tidy shape.
  14. Place the pastilla in the oven preheated to 180°C and leave for 25-30 minutes or until the color turns light golden.
  15. Decorate with powdered sugar, nuts, and cinnamon
